Dear Mick and Jim,

Phil Hough and I reported to the conservation committee about the recent tour you led of Race Tract Pulp and East Caribou. They asked me to thank you again for this field visit and the information you shared.

The committee felt that the East Caribou area is of potential botanic interest and it hopes to schedule a trip in the spring to search for unusual plants in that general area, including the wetlands to the SE of the planned harvest.

They were particularly concerned that the natural holding and drainage action of this large adjoining wetland not be disrupted by nearby soil compaction during harvest and asked me to relay their sense of the importance of the drainage issue.

The committee very much appreciates having a cordial working relationship with you and your staff. We hope to continue working with you to accomplish your goals of funding Idaho schools and our goals of protecting unique, important botanic resources.

Sincerely,

Molly O'Reilly
